The Factory Optic Cooke /i Metadata Port to RS-232 cable uses the required Lemo 4 pin (FGB.00.304.CLAD35)Â connector with special ‘B’ key for Cooke lens /i interfacing. The other end is a standard Amphenol mil-spec DSUB 9 connector, for connecting to SYNCRO-LINK or PC.
The SYNCRO-LINK provides power for lens port using pin 9 on DSUB, this is the RI pin and providing power here is allowed per the standard. When power is supplied in correct polarity, LED on DSUB shell will illuminate blue.
For lens firmware updates, cable can be used to connect to a computer’s serial port. In this setup, power can be applied to the DC jack on the rear of the DSUB shell. This takes a standard 5.5mm x 2.1mm, center positive voltage, for the voltage range of the /i port, typically 8VDC – 35VDC, 2.5W minimum. USB serial adapter and power adapter not included.
Built in protection circuitry for lens, protects against reverse polarity on the DC jack or DSUB, has a resettable fuse to protect from excessive current being drawn from cable or lens and prevents power being drawn from lens thru the cable.
Cable is 6ft/2m long, made from shielded and rugged cable, TPU jacket with Kevlar fillers for flexibility and durability. All parts are sourced from authorized distributors in USA and cables are assembled, inspected & tested in USA.

All factory optic PRODUCT RETURNS REQUIRE AN RETURN MATERIAL AUTHORIZATION (RMA) NUMBER.
REQUESTING RETURN AUTHORIZATIONS
All return requests must be made by emailing support@factoryoptic.com or calling 213-282-9942 and requesting an RMA form. RMA Numbers ensure that returned products will be properly credited to the Customer’s account. Products returned without authorization numbers will be returned to the sender. Please be prepared to provide related part number, and order number when requesting return authorizations.
RETURNS DUE TO PRODUCT ISSUES
1. Incorrect Product Shipped
FACTORY OPTIC will promptly provide Returned Material Authorization numbers for incorrect parts. Product must be returned in original packaging with factory seal intact and labeling to help our investigation and processing. Your account will be credited when product returns are received and verified by our Distribution Center.
2. Product Defect Claims
FACTORY OPTIC’s warranty policy for products claimed defective is to repair and return (no product exchanges). Please see our Warranty & Repair policy for more details.
3. Shipping Damage
If you receive damaged product with visible damage to external shipping containers, please report the damage to the carrier at the time of receipt. Please contact the FACTORY OPTIC with details of the damage.
4. Return Requests due to Customer Errors or Customer Convenience
FACTORY OPTIC will consider return requests, at our sole discretion and without obligation, due to Customer Error or Customer Convenience subject to the following restrictions:
a. Product must be undamaged and be in the Original Manufacturers sealed Packaging to ensure that there has been no possibility of physical damage, Electrostatic Discharge Damage (ESD) or exposure to moisture. FACTORY OPTIC must be able to restock and resell this product with absolute confidence.
b. Product must be have been shipped by FACTORY OPTIC and received by within the past 3 days.
c. Customer Convenience and Customer Error Returns shall be subject to restocking charges equal to 15% of the product’s purchase price or a $50 minimum charge – whichever is higher. In the event of a broken product seal, a 25% restocking fee will be applied to cover the cost of inspection, testing and QC.
d. All Customer Error or Customer Convenience Returns will be carefully inspected prior to restocking. Any product that is not suitable for restocking will be returned to the Customer without credit.
